Cognaris Labs

About

A small lab with a sharp thesis.

A surprising amount of what matters in the physical world never made it into the official record: hazards, obstructions, old infrastructure. The evidence usually exists anyway, sitting in public sensor data. Someone just has to go looking, and be careful enough about it that the results can be trusted.

Who we are

Science & Engineering

The technical team

The Cognaris detection technology, and the evaluation methodology behind every number we publish, were built in-house by a team whose background includes senior AI and robotics engineering leadership at NVIDIA, work on DARPA research programs, and doctoral training in quantum optics.

Director, Program Management & Partnerships

Rita DuCharme, M.S., M.B.A.

Rita leads program delivery, agency and coalition partnerships, and grant strategy — the bridge between the lab's technology and the field programs that put it to work.

We're based in Newark, Delaware. Our work spans coal country, the seafloor, and the mineral belts — turning public sensor data into verified maps of what's been left behind.

If you run a state AML program, coordinate a reclamation coalition, or manage survey operations, the fastest way to size us up is a short call and a free pilot on ground you know. Fifteen minutes is usually enough to tell whether this is worth your time.
